On a club gig in London five years ago two people met in the bar. They began talking about music and realized they had the same music taste, Bob Marley, Pixies etc. The two guys were Gavin Rossdale and Nigel Pulsford, the first members of today's Bush. Next thing in the band history that happened was that bassist Dave Parsons joined, coming from the band Transvision Vamp. The three guys plus a unknown drummer founded a rock group called the "Future Primitive", but they later changed the name to Bush.

They had some songs and played at English bars, not making any big money. At one gig, Robin Goodridge was in the audience. He liked the music, but not the drummer, so got backstage after the show and spoke to Gavin about what he thought. After that, he was a member of Bush. The success didn't抰 come immediately, though. Gavin, Nigel and Robin worked as painters daytime and played their music at night. They also sent out demo tapes to radio stations. One of the stations liked the music and played Everything Zen a lot. The English record labels wasn't really interested, but one day a small label called Trauma Records contacted Bush and they made a two album deal.

The release of debut album Sixteen Stone was like a bomb, not in England but in the states, where the record became a huge success and today it has sold over 8 million copies in the world with some help from MTV. Bush has released five singles from their first album, Everything Zen, Glycerine, Little Things, Comedown and Machinehead. The Sixteen Stone tour lasted for over a year and was sold out everywhere.

Two years later, in 1996 the second album, Razorblade Suitcase, was out in the stores, hitting the Billboards top spot immediately. The first single Swallowed was and still is very liked by the true Bush fans. Greedy Fly, Cold Contagious, Bonedriven also became singles. The sound of Razorblade Suitcase is different from Sixteen Stone, a little less slide guitar and more live-feeling in the songs. It was recorded by former Nirvana producer Steve Albini in London. After Razorblade Suitcase, Bush went out on tour in Europe and America, and played at several summer festivals including Reading and Rock am Ring.

In November 1997 Bush released a remix album, "Deconstructed", containing new versions of old songs.

On the 26th of October 1999, Bush third (fourh counting Deconstructed) album was released. If you get a chance to see Bush perform live, take my advice and DO IT. Nothing beats that experience, I promise.

I think the screaming guitars, the raw and intensive voice of Gavin, the heavy bass tunes and the rythmical and cool drums make Bush the best band on earth.
